Patrice Goyette 1Born as the son of a mechanic in Sherbrooke, Québec on October 28, 1965, Patrice Goyette was destined to follow in his father’s footsteps. Throughout his school years he could often be found next to his father on weekends and holidays learning the skills of a good technician. Moving into the work by the age of eighteen, Patrice began full time employment working as a mechanic from 1983 till 1987. The experience would help him develop a strong work ethic and appreciation for his life long passion. His efforts would extend beyond his career and back to the track as he applied for his road racing license in 1985. Competing in both the AM open and superbike classes, it would only take him 2 years to land his first National Championship.

Patrice reunited with his father in 1988 to continue his work as a mechanic while ice racing on the side. In 1990 through to 1996 Patrice would go to work for Mercedes Benz, moving to Toronto’s head office one year later as a mechanical consultant. By 1998, Patrice was ready to head back to Sherbrooke and take up work with his father as a car technician and for Simon Homans racing Pro MX in Canada. He would remain with the team right up to 2004, when he re-appeared in the road racing circles.

Patrice Goyette 2In 2003 Patrice was contracted by Blackfoot Suzuki Factory Race Team as a mechanic for Francis Martin. In 2004 he moved to the Diablo Race team to wrench for Steve Crevier and by 2005 re-signed with Diablo as chief mechanic for Francis Martin. The relationship and expertise would secure Diablo a Superbike National title that year. Following that title performance, Patrice would sign on with Francis Martin back under the Blackfoot Suzuki Racing tent for 2006.

Now, for the first time in two long and successful careers, Patrice will join forces with Clint McBain as their new Suzuki Factory race team launches into the 2007 race season with high hopes and great expectations.
